Yet 1 in 6 Texas adults do not have a high school diploma
Developing SMART goals to achieve the foundational credential
Providing support through college credit or credential bearing courses ensures success.
As Texas strategizes how 60% of Generation Texas (ages 25 - 34) can earn a postsecondary credential or degree, the focus must include the 3 million working-age people (up to age 60) in our state who never finished high school... leaving 18% of our workforce behind...again.
Workers without high school educations who are lucky enough to find jobs have a median annual income of $21,362, researchers say, while people with diplomas or certifications earn around $28,000. Texans like to brag, but we should be ashamed at the number of people in our state who still don't have a high school level education. Leaving 18 percent of the state's workforce behind is unacceptable. That's why Educational Goals Academy WILL DO whatever is necessary to ensure that more students take - and pass - one of the exams that opens the door to a high school certification.

This is a long form text area designed for your content that you can fill up with as many words as your heart desires. You can write articles, long mission statements, company policies, executive profiles, company awards/distinctions, office locations, shareholder reports, whitepapers, media mentions and other pieces of content that don’t fit into a shorter, more succinct space.
Articles – Good topics for articles include anything related to your company – recent changes to operations, the latest company softball game – or the industry you’re in. General business trends (think national and even international) are great article fodder, too.
Mission statements – You can tell a lot about a company by its mission statement. Don’t have one? Now might be a good time to create one and post it here. A good mission statement tells you what drives a company to do what it does.
Company policies – Are there company policies that are particularly important to your business? Perhaps your unlimited paternity/maternity leave policy has endeared you to employees across the company. This is a good place to talk about that.
Executive profiles – A company is only as strong as its executive leadership. This is a good place to show off who’s occupying the corner offices. Write a nice bio about each executive that includes what they do, how long they’ve been at it, and what got them to where they are.
Economically disadvantaged adults who completed the required high school credits – yet, failed to earn a diploma – remain disconnected from the opportunities of post-secondary education; thus, fueling the cycle of generational poverty.
Underprepared adult learners testing below TSIA college readiness standards encounter barriers to academic success and often struggle to graduate in a timely manner; thus, prolonging access to better wages and economic security.
College transition programs are successful, yet most are designed for the youth. Adult students are juggling multiple priorities that require a unique support system to navigate an expedient path to post-secondary graduation.
The dependence upon unreliable transportation while commuting to school and work on a regular basis can be costly. Monthly fuel cost and vehicle maintenance can often exceed a student’s budget, resulting in added financial burdens.
Adult learners often feel they "should" be able to navigate the higher education system. But, the multi-step processes of college admission, retention, and completion are confusing. This uncertainty causes anxiety, delays, and decisions that are not in the best interest of the learner.
Most adult learners have existing financial obligations that require steady employment. The added pressure of work schedules that are not conducive to school results in learners stopping-out due to a work conflict.
